Craziness update

We found a place to live yesterday, right down town Monticello. BTW, yes Tom, there is a themepark nearby. The town reminds me a lot of Port Clinton actually, there are two lakes, a river and lots of waterfront areas. Tourism is one of their biggest industries.

Anyway, we are going to rent a house for a year. It's kinda very tiny, but there is a basement and garage with a lot of storage. We started collecting boxes, and I have one box officially packed! Only 200 more to go!

ODell worked his first day at the new job today and has now been finger printed and drug tested. Next project is to fill out all his paperwork and get me through my final projects for the summer classes I'm taking.

Things to Do When you are 8-9 mos pregnant

#1....MOVE! Yes, that's right and that's our current goal :-) Today ODell had a second interview for a job and was offered the position on the spot. He will now be a 6th grade Special Ed teacher in the Logansport Community Schools. Needless to say we are VERY excited. However, we are now frantically looking for a place to live that is 1/2 way between our schools. Our schools will be about an hour apart, so we're looking in Monticello, IN (pronounced "sell-o", not cello like the instrument) We'll keep you posted on our progress. ((BTW, did I mention that school starts in like 3 weeks? 8/11 for teachers!))

I know it's been AGES since I made a post, so here is the latest.... School has been out for a little bit and we made one trip to Ohio to visit my parents. Next week we are planning another trip. While we are there, my cousin Darcie is planning a baby shower for Little Boo! ( We have registered at Target and ToysRUs/BabiesRUs. )

Speaking of Little Boo, he seems to be growing like a weed. I now feel his kicking on a daily basis. He is almost kicking hard enough for ODell to feel him from the outside. I've felt him on the outside just a couple of times, but ODell was not close enough to feel it while it was happening.

Our other Little Pooper is also growing quite quickly. She is a real sweetheart most of the time and now responds to her name. Potty training is going pretty well with only a few small accidents each week. She is learning "sit" and "come" and always does better when treats are involved. She still has terrible separation anxiety. Any suggestions?

Our First Little Pooper

No, the baby didn't come early. Amen to that! Rather we got a puppy. Her name is Tessa, which is short for Brutesa. Of course that's the female version of Brutus, as in Buckeye! The first two days she cried constantly as she is only 6 weeks old. However, each day (today is day 4) she has gotten a little better. Today, she learned to climb our outside step and jump off the couch. It's really cute when she falls in a heap in the grass, but she is learning to walk in grass as well. She's such a cuddler. And yes, we cheer loudly and praise her with hugs when she poops outside! Too much fun. Everyone asks either 1) are we crazy or 2) are we getting practice for Little Boo. Probably yes to both.

PS: the cats are 5 times her size and very scared of her still.

More to come later!

It's a.......

Boy! Had a second u/s today and everything looked great. Baby is measuring at exactly 18 weeks, which is where it should. Got some awesome pics which I'll post later, hopefully this weekend. We had a girl's name pretty solidified, but am working on boy names. Have a few we're thinking over at this time and will let y'all know later.

What does this mean???? It means bring on the little OSU, Indians, and Browns gear. Little boy Boo will learn the right colors and team at a proper age! (Living here I also want a couple of John Deere outfits!)

Off to Great America tomorrow.... can I say it's tiring walking an amusement park for 6-8 hours even at only 5 months? In the past two months I've spent 4 days at Disney, a day at Cedar Point, and tomorrow one at Great America. Fun... but I think I'm done for the season.

Off to bed soon!

Baby Bump

Well, I'm finally getting past the looking fat stage and starting to look pregnant. The chest is definitely starting to fill out the maternity tops and they no longer drape innocently over my stomach. People at school say I'm looking really "cute pregnant" at this point. Some days I do feel like I have the pregnant wobble down as I walk.

Have the big U/S #2 this Friday. If little Boo cooperates, we'll be able to tell if we'll buy blue or purple stuff. (I'm not sure I want to go all pink!) Hubby is going with me, so we'll find out together. Thankfully no one has started wagering guesses based on the size and shape of my stomach yet!

We're Back

Haven't posted in a few weeks. Mostly because I've been SOOOO overwhelmed at work. This past week worked between 60-70 hours. Tis the season for all kinds of awards and concerts. In addition to that, my 2nd year teacher's portfolio was due to the state of Indiana. If you don't pass that by year 3, you don't teach in Indiana. No pressure there or anything.

Been feeling good and even had some energy. Got up and cleaned the house this morning for the first time in many weeks. Way to0 much in the vacuum cleaner. Have a job interview (still at the same school) on Monday. More details on that later.

As for preggo stuff.... definitely starting to show and "popped out" a little this week. Still only put on about 4 lbs., it's just rearranged what is where. Have the second ultra-sound on Friday, May 16.... only 2 more weeks. :-)

Facelift

Just updated the look of the blog a bit. I liked the other one, but it was too hard to read and not enough color. I think this one should be a bit better. Maybe once we find if it is a boy or girl, we'll update with appropriate color, but for now, we'll try this.

Another Good appointment

Had our regular monthly check up today. Since there was no school, ODell went with me. (Unfortunately the last appointment of the day is 2:45 pm so for every appointment, I have to take a half day off of school. )

Anyway, heartbeat came through strong and loud. Forgot to ask what it was, but the dr. was happy. She also wanted to schedule the 2nd trimester ultrasound for next month. I was thinking it would be the end of May/beg. of June, so May 18 is a nice surprise. I'll be exactly 18 weeks that day, so I am VERY hopeful that we'll see the sex! For those who were wondering, I'll have a total of 3 ultrasounds, one each trimester. I don't know if the others will be the same 3D as the first, but it would be cool if they were.

Ooops forgot the most important detail (ODell reminded me!) The blood work that went with the first u/s came back good. That means that it doesn't appear to have Down's syndrome! Next u/s will rule out spina bifida.

First Pics!

I know I haven't posted in several days, just too much going on. Had a great ultrasound on Thursday and all looks good. All measurements within normal limits, which means that right now, the odds of a major birth defect such as Down's are small. Little Boo was looking way too cute with his/her hands up by the face the whole time. So much so in fact that they almost couldn't get an important measurement of the nasal bone.

If you look at the pics, you can see the Boo is upright. The top pic has the hands up by the head. On the second one, the tech took off the one arm so that we can see the face better. If you look closely you can also see a little bit of the legs. We also had the traditional blurry b &w's but thought these were so much cooler to post. (Click on the pics to enlarge them.)

As for the new clothes, I got a few shirts from Kohls, Motherhood Maternity, and Once Upon a Child. Looks like I'm set for a while now, hopefully the rest of the school year. (Which is only 7 weeks away, but who's counting!) I'm going to try to post the pics here. If they don't come out well, let me know and I can email them.

U/S All set & Preggo clothes

Got a call from the Drs. office today, letting me know that my 1st trimester ultrasound was approved by insurance, 6 weeks later! Anyway, looks like we are all set for Thursday afternoon. ODell is going with me so this will be cool. Please pray that everything comes out just right.

On a lighter note.... I am going to need to make the jump to maternity tops this week. The pants are great, but now my regular tops are just getting too tight and are too short to work with the pants. I think I finally put on a couple of baby pounds. However, right now, I'm just looking pleasantly FAT!

So there you have it.... news for the day.

Great Day!

Feeling SO much better today. Still wheezing a little bit, but much more energy. Had a good day at school and even came home by 5 pm. :-) (Most days it has been 6 or 7 pm!) Cleaned up the kitchen, did some laundry, vacuumed, and made dinner. Whew, that's the most I've gotten done in days if not weeks.

Hopefully the trend will continue.

Try #2

After creating a website on babiesonline.com, I realized that there was no room for blogging, just our journals and you signing the guestbook. Therefore, am trying this out to see if it works any better. Guess we'll see!

Saturday update

Saturday, April 05, 2008 Feeling okay this week. No more morning sickness, yea! However, the asthma was giving me fits. On about 4-5 new meds that will hopefully stablize it. Been wheezing a lot, and did wake myself up from a nap because of it. Dr. put me on a nebulizer about 4 times a day for now. I guess it's helping, my chest doesn't hurt any more, but the wheezing is still there. Got LOTS of sleep today and that always seems to help a bit. Goal is to feel better and get down to 2-3 treatments a day by the middle/end of the week. We'll keep you posted.
